We are the Brighton and Hove group of the national Ramblers. Walking and socialising in and around the South East of England.

30s-50s Thorney Island Circular - Sunday 7th August 2016

This is a completely flat walk  around part of Chichester Harbour.  Chichester Harbour is the single most important site in the southeast of England for waterfowl with 52,000 birds  using this area in a year. It may also be possible to spot Harbour Seals. It is an attractive walk across MOD land. The leader will meet the  train at Emsworth station.  The train from Brighton is at 9.30 This train also stop at various stations including Hove, Shoreham and  Worthing. I will wait for this train if there are delays.  Please check trains before setting off and Southern has been notoriously unreliable recently

Please bring a picnic lunch  The walk will not go through Emsworth   town centre en route, although we do pass a co-op.  You are welcome to visit Emsworth coffee shops or pubs at the end of the walk.  It is suggested that as some paths may be a little overgrown, long trousers are worn.
