Nice varied walk starting at Goring station and on to Patching via Highdown Hill with great views to the North Downs and coast, iron-age fort and Miller's Tomb (above). From Patching we head for Angmering via the windmill and lunch at the Spotted Cow. Manor Nurseries Garden Centre cafe is available opposite. After lunch we descend to the beach at Kingston Gorse where Pete Townsend (reputedly) recorded the wave sounds for Quadrophenia! Tea at the wonderful Bluebird cafe (time permitting) and return from Goring station (trains at '16, '27, '50 mins each hour).

Train departs from Brighton @ 0930 , Hove @ 0934 and arrives Goring @ 1002. Walk kicks off @ 1015. I shall join at Hove. Return ticket £6.90.

Hope to see you on Sunday - forecast is sunny (yippee!)
