Please join me for a scenic walk through the parishes of Brightling, Burwash and Dallington in the Rother District of East Sussex. Varied countryside and woodland, with a chance along the way to spot several of Mad Jack Fuller's Follies which were built in this area. Picnic lunch in Burwash, beside the church, with attractive views in the background. There is also a choice of two pubs, a café and the local store for refreshments or food.

The walk will begin at 10.30am from outside the Swan Inn at Wood's Corner, Nr Dallington, East Sussex, TN21 9LB. Driving east along the B2096 from Heathfield, there is a small off-road parking area on the right hand side just before the Swan. Also, after turning left at the junction opposite the pub, some further parking is available at the side of the road. As the spaces there are limited, car sharing is advised where possible.

Kindly post a comment here or preferably on the BAHR 30s-50s Meetup Site if you are able to offer any members a lift from the south end of Preston Park, Brighton (near to the Rose Garden) for a prompt 9.25am departure. The journey should take around 50 minutes. Expenses are shared between the driver and passengers at the rate of 30p per mile. I shall be meeting everyone at the starting point.

There is likely to be some mud after any rain. This walk is around 11.5 miles long and has a few hills, with a total of 1500 feet of ascent / descent.

I look forward to seeing some of you on Sunday.

Chris
