Please join me for an attractive 11 mile circular walk through the south eastern area of the Ashdown Forest, including Old Lodge Nature Reserve, a section of The Wealdway and Nutley Windmill. The walk will begin promptly at 10.30am from the ‘Friends’ car park in Crowborough Road, near Nutley, East Sussex. Additional parking is available in the ‘Stonehill’ car park on the opposite side of the road.

Kindly post a comment here or preferably on the BAHR 30s-50s Meetup Site if you are able to offer any members a lift from the south end of Preston Park, Brighton (near to the Rose Garden) for a latest 9.35am departure. The journey should take 40 minutes via the A27 /A26 /A22 route. Expenses are shared between the driver and passengers at the rate of 30p per mile. I shall be meeting everyone at the starting point.

Our lunch stop (say for about 60-75 minutes) will be at the Foresters Arms in Fairwarp, which is a traditional country inn. Click here to view their menu. I have managed to book a table there for eight people. Let me know if you would like one of the remaining pre-reserved places. Alternatively, you can bring along a picnic to have on the green opposite, where there is also some seating.

The route is undulating and involves around 1200 feet of ascent / descent in total. Some sections are likely to be muddy after any rain.

I look forward to seeing some of you on Sunday.

Chris
