The "Friends of Wolstonbury", http://www.wolstonbury.com/dates.htm were out in the rain today maintaining many steep flights of steps on Wolstonbury Hill, where, as the Early-purple orchids start to fade so Common-spotted', Twayblades and Butterfly orchids emerge. And the tiny Fly orchids, above, are now at their peak! Click on the picture to expand it. This walk then is "on the fly!"
A 6Km, moderately tough walk with 250m of ascent and descent with eight stiles, slippery in places when poles are very useful. It is NOT suitable for inexperienced walkers
