The New Forest Circular is replacing my usual Isle of Wight walk this year, and will be a flat walk of about 8 miles. The day return from Brighton ( or Hove) to Brockenhurst is £13.65 with a railcard, catching the 9.00am South West Trains service from Brighton, changing at Southampton Central.
We will first visit the War Memorial and cemetery to New Zealand WW1 soldiers buried near the church, before walking through woodland. A table has been booked at the Filly Inn for lunch but you can bring a picnic if you prefer. After lunch, we will walk into open heathland with extensive views across Setley Plain. Hopefully there will be tea at the end. The weather is looking promising at the moment.
