30s-50s Harting Down Circular Sunday 5th July

This lovely walk combining stunning views across the spectacular Downs of mid-Sussex, beautiful dappled shaded woods and gentle rolling hills will undoubtedly end your week off on a high (even if it is a bit of a trek to get there!). There are two steeper climbs at the end, but the views are well worth it! Start time: 10:30am (it will be tight so I cannot wait past this time) at the Harting Down National Trust car park (fee applies to nonmembers)on the B2141 near South Harting. Please see walks prog for grid refs. Snack stops (with some snacks) will be provided! Lunch at around 1:30pm will be at Hooksway, where the Royal Oak, with its well renowned food, or a sweet picnic site awaits us. I intend to finish around 4pm back at the NT car park. Please can available drivers go to the Preston Park (new) pick up point and kindly provide sociable lifts and share petrol costs of course...pretty please. I will be going straight to the start. Please contact me if you are going to meet me there. Seb
