This promises to be a lovely walk with autumn colours in plenty of mixed woodland. But, I'm not happy with one of the paths on the original route, consequently I have amended it so we have a long morning and a short afternoon reducing the total length to 8 miles (12.8 Km). The new route takes in all the main highlights of the area, passing through Little Bognor, Flexham Park, Bedham, Lithergate Common and Fittleworth Common, to the Swan Inn, then a loop over Hesworth Common, taking in 2…

I have shortened this walk slightly so it is now 14Km (8.7miles) and changed the pub to "The World's End". The morning is still a good length over undulating downland (not steep) with wonderful views and the afternoon is shorter with a gentle, shady climb up through woods. The pace will be slightly more leisurely than originally anticipated but I hope to finish at about 3.15pm.

I've just been checking out some of this walk and it's nearly perfect with the dappled sunlight through the trees, bluebells and other wild flowers, tree blossom and lunch by the canal. There aren't many stiles and no big hills, but the one down side is there are a number of patches of wet sloshy mud. It's well worth coming along but I would recommend stout boots, gaiters and walking poles.

Due to the fact heavy snow and winds are forecast for tomorrow I think the Bo Peep Car Park will be too dangerous so this walk is cancelled. Weather permitting I will lead a local walk instead, if you are interested please come to Preston Park or ring me in the morning using the number on the programme.

This promises to be a lovely varied walk so please don't miss it because of road works on the way. Lindfield High Street is currently closed so please take an alternative route to reach the start.

The car park where this walk starts is call the Kithurst Hill Car Park, but the name is not shown on the programme. It is signposted from the B2139 Amberley Road. The plan is to go to the Sportsman Pub at Cross Gates afterwards.

This is a lovely walk with beautiful views across the forest, with the gorse looking perfect at the moment. There is an option for lunch in the garden centre café at Duddeswell (cash only) but no pub, there should also be an ice cream van at the end!

I'm afraid that due to injury I am unable to lead this walk so it will not take place.

We will be leaving from the Sussex Wildlife Trust Car Park, if you printed out the programme when it was first published the name is incorrect (the grid reference is unchanged). The weather looks promising so this is a great opportunity to enjoy the last of the winter colours.

The Swan Inn, which was temporarily closed has re-opened, so a pub lunch will be available on this walk. The route goes through some beautiful woodland, there's a stunning view from Hesworth Common and if you don't fancy the pub you can picnic by the River Rother.

Join the 9 mile Lancing Ring Circular this Saturday. The route will be the reverse of the one published as views are much better in this direction

Please note the start will be from Spierbridge Raod, G.R. TQ083146, not the long stay car park as shown on the original versions of the programme. There is a 5 hour limit on the car park.
