Sunday, 26 October 2014 - 8 fairly flat miles through the lovely High Weald. Starting at 10.45am in the Car Park at Minepit Wood off Vowles Lane near Kingscote Station, lunch at the excellent Red Lion in Turner's Hill (picnic if you prefer). Returning via Gravetye Manor. Hopefully the Fall should be perfect but it will be muddy underfoot.

All welcome for this great (9 mile flat) walk around Chichester Harbour on Sunday. Start outside Bull's Head, Fishbourne at 10.45 (not the station this time). Park in Mill Lane next to pub, off the A259. A lovely waterside walk via Itchenor for lunch at The Ship Inn or picnic by the river, over on the West Itchenor Ferry (£2 charge) to Bosham and other villages returning to Fishbourne and tea at the Bull's Head. Go North! Our chance to walk the North Downs Way for a change. Starting from Reigate Heath and following the downs at low level before climbing up to Box Hill NT cafe for lunch or picnic. We will now be taking cars on this walk as it is rail replacement buses on Sunday and it would take 2 hours by bus! Please bring a car if you have one.
Meet at the back of Brighton Station at 9.15 and depart at 9.30 for the drive to Fishbourne Station expecting to arrive at 10.30 for the start of the walk from the station car park.

Will it be spring or winter on Sunday for this classic Ashdown Forest walk? 8 miles starting at Gils Lapp Car Park in the heart of the Forest via Withyham to pub lunch at Hartfield (or picnic or cafe), returning via Pooh Sticks Bridge. It looks like the White Hart Pub has closed down so I am now planning an early lunchstop at Wakehurst Place Cafe. This means a short morning and longer afternoon so you may want to bring extra food.

I will be leaving the Level on Sunday morning at 10 am to drive to Balcombe Station for a 10.45 start. Brighton will be busy on Sunday because of the half marathon so if you prefer to go on the train there is one leaving at 10.04 arriving 10.30.
This should be a lovely walk in the High Weald, passing through Wakehurst Place and stopping for lunch at the White Hart Inn before returning to the Station in time to take the train back to Brighton. The Station Car Park cost £1 last time I…Continue
Join us for a shortish 6 mile walk around Falmer, Stanmer and the University grounds on Sunday 30 December.
