A kind Rambler has informed me that the famous Blue Bird Café in Ferring is currently closed.
The lunch stop will now be at The Sea Lane Café on the seafront in Goring which is about 6 miles from the start of the walk. sealanecafe.co.uk
As the East Beach Café is also closed, my intended stop at the end of the walk, we will now complete the walk at the top of Sea Lane Littlehampton to catch the 700 bus back towards Brighton. This will shorten the walk to about 12…

I have had to cancel the walk to the Isle of Wight from the main programme due to limited interest.
A few of us will now be flying from Shoreham Airport to Bembridge this Saturday for a circular walk.

The IOW walk is still going ahead but we will not be stopping out on Saturday night.
We will need to car share as there are engineering works on the railway
Looking to leave Brighton by 07.30 to arrive in Southsea by 09.00
The Hovercraft takes about 10 minutes then bus to Newport and onwards to Carisbrooke where the Tennyson Trail starts

I hope that you all enjoyed my walk yesterday and that the breakaway flat brigade got back to Shoreham safely.
We spoke about a walking weekend to the Isle of Wight.
Looking to make an early start on Saturday 19th July to enable a 14 mile walk from Carisbrooke to Alum Bay. Maybe stay the night in either Freshwater or Yarmouth in a moderately priced hotel or B & B. Alternatively return to Brighton same day.
