Come and join us for another fine evening walk this Wednesday 31st July.
This mid-week evening walk will be around Isfield, which is north of Lewes. The walk is mostly flat and takes in some wonderful countryside. Possible drink in the pub afterwards.
We meet at the southern end of Preston Park (near the Rotunda cafe) at 7pm

Meet at Brighton Station behind the Flying Bean coffee shop at 7.30 for the 7.43 train to Pevensey & Westham (arrives 8.35). Please note we have shortened the walk to 18 miles from 21 miles to make it a bit more manageable in the heat. Also to remind you that you will need to bring enough drinks and food for the whole day as we don't past any shops/pubs and that there aren't really any opportunities to drop out early.

The walk will commence from Polegate Stn at 10.00. The train from Brighton leaves at 0920 arriving Polegate at 0949. The walk is 12 miles circular walk with a picnic, cafe or pub drink in East Dean ( no pub lunch ).
Walk leader will only be at Polegate Station.

Here is a reminder re the 20-40s BAHR walk this Sunday. The 5-6 mile walk taking in views of Eastbourne and the coast will start from the Beachy Head Pub and finish with pub/picnic lunch at the pub itself. We will then visit the Towner Art Gallery in Eastbourne in the afternoon - this visit is optional if you have your own transport, or came with a driver who isn't interested in visiting the exhibitions at the Towner. Walk for Women 2013: Brighton to London
On 21 July a Walk for Women will set off from Brighton Pier to commemorate a similar initiative 100 years ago, calling for the right to vote. It will arrive in Hyde Park in London on Saturday 27 July. The walk is open to men and women who wish to celebrate the achievements of the women's rights movement over the past 100 years. Come and join us this Wednesday evening for a walk around Bramber and Upper Beading. This walk is mostly flat, as a large proportion is walking along the river bank.
This walk is around 4 miles and there is an option for a drink in a pub at the end.
We meet at 7pm at the south end of Preston Park (by the Rose Garden).
The forecast is still good, so it should be a pleasant walk. Hope to see a few of you there!

The RA and the YHA have launched a joint project as part of the Ramblers Routes project. The deal is that someone who has completed the Ramblers routes training creates two walks from a youth hostel. They get a free bed night. Then the routes are checked by another member, who also gets a free bed night.

Go North! Our chance to walk the North Downs Way for a change. Starting from Reigate Heath and following the downs at low level before climbing up to Box Hill NT cafe for lunch or picnic. A circular walk around Lewes. Cars not required - train to Lewes. 9th century priory - a hidden valley with a lost village and as a bonus we walk passed the Breaky Bottom vineyard - lunch at Rodmell and return via Southease by train. One steep climb onto the downs behind the Juggs pub at Kingston. The length will be 9 miles - the alternative return walking back along the river adds another 3 miles - hardy ramblers will return this way - the rest of us will get a train from Southease Station.…Continue

Here is a handy reminder for the evening walk this Wednesday 3rd July. We will be taking in a trilogy of the Deans that will include Roedean, Ovingdean and Rottingdean.
We meet at the south end of Preston Park (by the Rose garden) at 7pm.
Hopefully the forecast rain will have cleared by then and we will enjoy a fabulous summer evening and some wonderful scenery.
