Sorry WALK POSTPONED Holmwood and Leith Hill to Dorking. 7th July

It may not surprise walkers on Diana's excellent Ashdown forest walk last Saturday, but unfortunately, a colourfully sprained ankle so spectacularly, yet mundanely, acquired means  I will be postponing the Leith Hill walk until later in the year. I intend spending the next few days with my foot up on ice watching the World Cup!

Apologies for any inconvenience caused, and thanks to the kindly Sherpas who helped me make it back to base camp on Saturday.

Reminder: 30s–50s Rotherfield, Frant and Eridge Old Park Circular – Sunday 10th June 2018

This walk is 12 miles in length and goes through an attractive area of the High Weald, close to the East Sussex / Kent border. The terrain is undulating with a couple of longer hills and the total ascent / descent is approximately 1550 feet. There will probably be a few muddy sections, unless we are lucky and the ground has dried out.

Lunch will be in Frant where a reservation has been made at the George Inn.…

Following the recent enjoyable trip to The Isle of Wight, I have booked rooms for up to 25 people at the HF hotel at Selworthy, North Somerset for the nights of 15,16, and 17 June 2019.  Set among 12,500 acres of a NT estate in the Exmoor National Park, Holnicote House has a heated outdoor pool and all the usual HF amenities. I envisage two walks of 8-10 miles on the two full days and two shorter walks on the days of arrival and departure.

The package costs £265 pp on a full board…
