This is an attractive undulating walk of approximately 12½ miles through the wooded north western area of the Ashdown Forest, including the remarkable Chelwood Vachery.
We begin from the 'Churlwood' car park on the A275, Lewes Road, between Chelwood Gate and Wych Cross. Parking there is free, although space is limited, so car sharing is advisable.

Hi all, a couple of ramblers have said that they would like to sponsor me doing the South Coast Mighty Hike for Macmillan on 10th June and asked if I could send them the link to do it. I thought I would let you know that another rambler, who is lovely, Ziggi, is also doing the walk. We won't be doing it together as we are in separate groups and she starts an hour earlier. I doubt that I will catch her knowing how fast she gets up a hill!

This Wednesday evening the walk will be around the Washington area. The walk will have hills as we eventually climb to Chanctonbury Ring, hopefully in time for a great sunset. We will then descend back to the pub for a well earned post walk drink.
We will meet at the south end of Preston Park (by the rose garden) at 7pm before driving to the start point in Washington.

Yes, its the start of the evening walks season!
The walk will be around the area of Bramber and is a circular. The walk is mostly flat, so we are easing you into the evening walk season gently.
There will be the opportunity for a drink in a pub at the end of the walk.
As this is the first walk in the season, there is a possibility that it might get dark towards the end of the walk.
