Spam posts

We've had a couple of fake members join up and send spam friendship/wall posts with the aim of asking you for email addresses etc. We've removed these members and made the sign up process a bit harder with the addition of a question as well as letters/numbers to type to try to stop false members.

Your details on the Brighton Ramblers site are secure - but if you had emailed these members from your email account then they would have gained your email address. If you communicate…

Rottindean walk 3/6/2012

Owing to the significance of the weekend I'm doing my walk to Rottingdean via the Racecourse and Woodingdean. Have decided to make it a morning- only ramble so those who come on the walk can get back to enjoy the Jubilee celebrations if they wish.

The morning part of the walk, anyway, is the highlight as we take in glorious views of the coast from the peaks in Woodingdean. The post lunch part of my walk as per the programme is rather more mundane as we stroll back along the undercliff…

Plumpton to Lewes linear walk May 20th - final train times

The train to catch is the 10 am train from Brighton to Plumpton  - via Wivelsfield- yes I know, I've changed my mind because the one via Lewes means hanging about Lewes station for 40 mins which is daft. I will meet you at Brighton station.

This one gets to Wivelfield at 10:15 and then we get the 10:35 to Plumpton which arrives at Plumpton at 10:41. Anyone going straight to the start please contact me.

There is a car park at Hassocks station for anyone driving straight there, please arrive for 10:30 walk start.

Most of the walk is before lunch so suggest you bring snacks to keep you going. Lunch will be in Hurstpierpoint and after that it is a short, flat walk back to Hassocks…

Plumpton to Lewes linear walk May 20th

The train times have changed for this walk, the trains now start at 29 mins past the hour rather than 39 mins past. We could catch the 09:29 or take the next one an hour later (no good going for the 10 am one as it conects with Wivelsfield rather than Lewes). I am happy either way, there will still be plenty of time in Lewes for tea at the end. I will make a final decision later in the week depending on feedback.

Viewable Route of May Long Distance Walk - Balcombe to Falmer

That was a great walk - thank you Clair and Claire.

Two versions to view the route of the walk:

1) link to GPSies - you can fiddle around and maybe view with Google Maps - Earth option gives isometric perspective.

2) link to OS Getamap - requires download of Microsoft Silverlight - not too big a file, 6ish megs.

Suggestion: maybe try…
