Walk for Women Sunday 21st July

Walk for Women 2013: Brighton to London

On 21 July a Walk for Women will set off from Brighton Pier to commemorate a similar initiative 100 years ago, calling for the right to vote.  It will arrive in Hyde Park in London on Saturday 27 July. The walk is open to men and women who wish to celebrate the achievements of the women's rights movement over the past 100 years. There will be speakers at the start and the event will be something of a rally to begin with. Be ready to leave the Pier at 1030, Sunday 21 July.

On the first day the route runs through Patcham, the South Downs, Clayton and Hassocks to Burgess Hill. It is due to be hot - so dress for heat, wear comfortable shoes, bring a picnic lunch and plenty of water. We pass bus stops and train stations so it should not be a problem to leave when tiredness hits.

The walk will continue every day from Monday through to Saturday 27th covering roughly ten miles each day. On Saturday a short walk from Clapham Common will finish in Hyde Park for a celebration.

Do let me know if you want more details of the whole walk. Hope to see some of you on Sunday at the pier!
