Leader

Please note the following:

  1. The route has been changed and we will be going to Milton Street (not East Dean) and lunching at the Sussex Ox (Tiger Inn won't take bookings),
  2. Due to the Brighton Marathon we will be catching the #12 bus from the Gala Bingo stop (corner Freshfield & Eastern Road). The bus operator has told me that departure times will be approximate so I suggest we gather at the bus stop by 9.15am and take the first #12 which leaves,
  3. If you live west of the Steine then getting to Gala Bingo may/will be difficult since the Steine is blocked off for the marathon and buses going east terminate at Churchill Square. You may have to walk from the Steine to Gala Bingo so leave sufficient time. I suggest you consult the B&H site for details (http://bit.ly/1mHeuSc).

I hope the above won't frighten you off coming since the walk is packed with interesting things to see: Lullington Heath Nature Reserve (last remaining chalk heath in UK), the Long Man and White Horse (see the only 2 chalk figures in Sussex on the same day!), breath-taking views from the Downs, Wilmington Priory and 12th century church with its 1600 year old Yew tree, Alfriston from the river.....

Courage and look forward to sharing this lovely walk with you.

*****If you are driving to the start (bus stop @ 7-Sisters Park) please call or text me (07758 127958) so I can let you know when we leave Brighton and update you on progress*****
