Dear members,
I am standing down as group secretary at the forthcoming AGM and there have been no offers to take on the role. With 9 November almost upon us, this is becoming urgent. Would all members please consider whether they could take on this position, and let me know not later than Monday 5 November if they are interested. The role involves acting as first point of contact for the group and organising three committee meetings, plus the AGM, each year. Ability to work comfortably with a computer is the main qualification. The role could be made into a job share if a couple of people step forward. We are also looking for a Social Secretary and a 40s/50s Walks Programmer. And we need more volunteers to lead walks! (We can arrange support if you have never led a walk before). All committee members, programmers and walk leaders are volunteers. Without them the group would not exist. If you value everything our group has to offer please think about what you can do to put something back.
