40/50's walk around Lewes - Sunday 7th July

A circular walk around Lewes. Cars not required - train to Lewes. 9th century priory - a hidden valley with a lost village and as a bonus we walk passed the Breaky Bottom vineyard - lunch at Rodmell and return via Southease by train. One steep climb onto the downs behind the Juggs pub at Kingston. The length will be 9 miles - the alternative return walking back along the river adds another 3 miles - hardy ramblers will return this way - the rest of us will get a train from Southease Station. [9 mins past the hour on a Sunday].

We have a table booked at the Abergavenny Arms in Rodmell ... they serve lunch all afternoon and we will arrive about 13.30 -14.00.

Please bring water, sun lotion and a hat as the weather is fine and there is no shade on the Downs. Parking available at Lewes Station.

See you at 10.30 Lewes Station.
