Please join us for a 10.5 mile circular walk around the coastal town of Seaford. Highlights include the interesting lost village of Tide Mills, Seaford Head, Hope Gap, and the iconic view of the Seven Sisters from the old Fisherman’s cottages above Cuckmere Haven. The initial section along the length of the seafront promenade is flat, but then we climb steeply and the remainder of the route also has hills, with around 1750 feet of ascent / descent in total.

Lunch will be in the centre of Seaford, at the two thirds distance mark, where you can choose from a variety of pubs and cafés. We expect to be stopping there for 60-70 minutes. Afterwards, the group meets outside Tesco Express in Sutton Park Road to begin the second leg of the walk. This will take us back to the start via East Blatchington, Bishopstone and Foxhole Farm. Note that extra care is required when crossing the busy A259 near the end.

It is likely to be muddy and a bit slippery in places after any rain, but as some of the surfaces are paved, this should be less of a problem than usual.

Click here for further details of the walk, including the options for travelling to and from the starting point by public transport. This saves repeating everything already set out in the programme. Kindly call one of us if the designated bus #12 from Brighton does not run on time, as we will be going directly to the Mill Drove car park.

New members are welcome, although there is often a limited number of places available on our walks for those without a current subscription to the Ramblers. It is a requirement that all non-Ramblers members join the BAHR 30s-50s Walking Group on Meetup and have confirmed RSVPs before attending a maximum of 3 walks. These restrictions do not apply to anyone who is a paid-up member of the Ramblers.

We look forward to seeing you and will keep our fingers crossed for better weather by Sunday.

Cheers

Chris G and Clare H
