It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of John Warren. He was 91.

I have been asked by Sussex Rambler magazine to help publicise this event:
On behalf of our Chairman I have organised a charity walk in aid of the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity around the countryside of Hurstpierpoint and Wolstonbury Hill. There is a 3km or a 9km route. This charity is important to our Chairman as they successfully treated his 18 month grand daughter for cancer, she is now a bubbly 10 years old.

Due to the Met Office amber weather warning for rain on Sunday (Storm Dennis), this walk is cancelled.

Having pre walked this in tricky ground conditions it would seem reckless to attempt it when there are 2 severe weather warnings for wind and rain on Saturday following heavy rain on Thursday and Friday. Sections are also thickly wooded and haven't been checked since Storm Ciara. Apologies but this walk will now take place on Saturday 7th March instead. I will most likely be recceing a walk on Wednesday (weather permitting), if you feel you have missed out on a walk this weekend, let me…Continue

My email is firstname.lastname@example.org. Hope to stay in touch. Food and bed to passing ramblers.
Following pre-walk, distance will be 9 miles not 8.
It might be possible to have an early lunch but it is advisable to bring a light picnic.
The finishing time will be adjusted accordingly.

Having pre walked this yesterday , due to the very muddy ,wet conditions ,it made the walking very difficult ,slippery and hazardous. Difficult to divert on to roads so I have decided to cancel and do the walk when conditions are dryer. Apologies, Keith F

Just to let you know that I have cancelled Saturdays Dec 21st walk from Isfield. This is because of bad conditions under foot. I think that this is going to happen plenty of times this Winter with walks off the Downs. Let us hope it stops raining very soon !! Happy Christmas. Mick Thatcher

With regret I am cancelling this Thursday's walk.
There is a Met Office Yellow Warning for heavy rain for Thursday through Saturday. As the fields and paths are already waterlogged off the South Downs Way and travel there may be disrupted owing to flooding I have decided to cancel.
